BE A SUPER USER OF NOKIA CELL PHONE
There is a number of special codes starting with star and hash characters (*#), which can be used to retrieve useful information from the phone or even reset the phone.
How to use these codes? Enter them while in the idle screem (where you would also dial a phone number).

The format of the result looks like below:

· The first line shows the software version
· The second line shows the release date for the software.
· The third line shows the product type, should correspond to the "Type:" value displayed on phone's label under the battery.
· The last line shows the model name followed in round parenthesis by the variant id and the variant version

Generally the IMEI number is of 14 to 17 digits.

TAC = Type approval code FAC = Final assembly code SNR = Serial number SP = Spare
The IMEI is a number unique to every GSM and UMTS mobile phone. It is usually found printed on the phone underneath the battery and can also be found by dialing the sequence *#06# into the phone.

There is a frequent use of reading IMEI in mobile phone development. People generally use IMEI for license/full version support of an application.
The IMEI number is used by the GSM network to identify valid devices and therefore can be used to stop a stolen phone from accessing the network. For example, if a mobile phone is stolen, the owner can call his or her network provider and instruct them to "ban" the phone using its IMEI number. This renders the phone useless, regardless of whether the phone's SIM is changed.

WLAN MAC Adress is also usually found printed on the phone underneath the battery. Requires the phone to support WLAN / WiFi of course.

The same functionality can be activated from Settings application (Phone->General->Orig. phone settings). This restores most settings, but does not touch, for example, contacts and calendar entries.

This causes whole C-drive to be formatted and re-initialized to the initial state.
Note: Your default lock code is 12345 if you don't change phone lock. Do not use this option if your phone battery is not full or at least 75%. Make sure your battery is at least 75% full; otherwise if the format is disrupted by low battery, consequences will be disastrous.

· 6. *#21# In case you activated the Call divert feature, you can use this code to check that number
· 7. *#2640# This displays the security code currently in use on your Nokia Cell phone.
· 8. *#30# In case you received a call from a private number, this Nokia Secret cell phone code lets you see that private number
· 9. *#62# In case you are roaming on in a place where your cell phone providers signals are hard to reach you can activate a “Divert If Unreachable (no service)” calls.

· 11. *#92702689# This lets you see the serial number, the date your Nokia cell phone was made, a purchase date if in the system and the date of last repair.
